Paperdroid Changelog

1.1.4:
  • fixes, tweaks, more tweaks, tiny little undetectable features

1.1.1:
  • fixed a number of bugs, most of them thanks to excellent feedback from users
  • added some long-since planned features
  • most importantly: added and tweaked stuff as per various user requests
1.0.5:
  • fixed the FCs!
  • fixed a bug in 'Save to Paperdroid' of not-so-plain-and-simple urls (thanks Michael!)
  • there's a chance that the 'sticky' notification bug is fixed too - the "fix" is 100% untested, will
1.0.1:
  • after lots of research, I finally found a way to do Autologin for Google Reader - will get an authorization token from the device, if you have a Google Experience phone; no more giving away credentials to dodgy figures roaming the shadowy alleys with suspicious-looking netbooks running menacing IDEs like Eclipse with really threatening Android phones attached to the abovementioned untrustworthy netbooks via scary USB cords! Yay!
  • a bug in 0.9.9 disabled logging. After weeks of *nobody* ever sending a log, *minutes* after the update I sure got a Debug Log mail with an empty attachment. Ça va sans dire. Fixed & added a preference (might yield a dubious speed gain).
  • added a nice EULA
  • tweaked sync service for more tolerance to fetching errors
  • tags fully supported for Google Reader
  • option to sync starred items, a list of tags/folders, or both (Google Reader)
  • as always, many more fixes and tweaks which I completely forgot about
0.9.9rc:
  • fixed a major bug in scheduled sync service (only worked on WiFi) and tweaked it - now if a sync operation (manual or scheduled) doesn't go fully through (meaning, some kind of server error occurs), it will automatically retry after 60 minutes. If the problem is no connectivity, however, like before it will shut itself down and wake up as soon as a data connection is re-established.
  • fixed another bug in sync service where authentication requests would overwrite a pending sync
  • fixed a bug in 'Save to Paperdroid' action - didn't work when offline
  • tweaked many UI elements (including the title bar)
  • fixed and improved the current reading list position saving/restoring when switching activities
  • all communication will try gzip encoding for less data transfer/faster operation
  • when changing 'fetch' preference, articles in queue will get the new preference
  • the remaining 90% of the changes are Paperdroid Pro features :)
0.9.8rc:
  • Google Reader support
  • major change in offline cache - full resync is required
  • text is parsed for URLs in 'Save to paperdroid' intent, useful for some Twitter clients that 'share' the whole tweet
  • fixed one improbable forceclose
  • lots of tweaks
0.9.7rc:
  • small database update - will require full resync
  • some minor fixes and a couple cosmetic tweaks
  • I might have been too optimistic with release numbering :)
v0.9.6rc:
  • reworked threads, fixed forceclose
v0.9.5rc:
  • new KewlNAV(tm (nah, not for serious)) tap-based navigation in the reading screen (the zoom bar is gone! hooray! - thanks Joe for the suggestion!)
  • other internal changes to pave the road for Paperdroid Pro
v0.9.0rc:
  • boring and badly written 'readme' article - yay!
  • first-run behaviour and credentials request rewritten, now it works properly
  • updated database internals for future endeavors into the unknown (updating will wipe your db, a full resync is needed)
  • swipe gestures for next/previous article
  • extended and tweaked night/day view
  • tap top/bottom of article screen to scroll up/down
  • rewritten 'send to Read It Later' feature, it's faster, better, stronger
  • changed again API throttling values - new algorithm makes sense and it should be much faster 99% of the times
  • automark as read when reaching article end
  • it turns out I didn't break that much stuff last time, let's see how this one goes
v0.1.9beta:
  • streamlined 'toast' notifications when stuff happens
  • fixed 'read and next' bug - rewrote the whole thing for greater flexibility
  • sligthly increased API throttling to more conservative values (you never know...)
  • fixed a minor bug in purging old articles
  • day/night option! (this one really made me sweat
  • hide/show article icons option
  • tons of minor tweaks - I almost certainly broke something
  • SVN repo is still broken :)
v0.1.8beta:
  • font preference!
  • more sorting options
  • articles added to RIL are batched and sent to the server with the main sync job
  • super-secret-feature: long-clicking a link in the reading screen = share it (even to Paperdroid itself, even when offline - see above)
  • added 'view in browser' in reading screen
  • honestly? I forgot. Yeah, again. Fixed some stuff, probably. And something else.
v0.1.7beta:
  • many improvements to the communication stack
  • many many improvements to the background syncing service
  • added making use of the user selected global font size
  • added/changed some icons, hopefully they are more meaningful
  • fullscreen reading mode
  • broken my SVN repo - ain't that remarkable
v0.1.6beta:
  • nomadic life led me to forget writing the changelog for this one
  • let's say it was mostly fixes
v0.1.5beta:
  • reorganized the communication stack
  • some fixes of questionable effectiveness
v0.1.4beta:
  • background sync (if ever there was something completely untested, this is it)
  • finally solved the exotic charsets problem
  • activity log
  • about screen
v0.1.3beta:
  • share article link
  • send pages to Read It Later directly from Android browser
  • article list icons
  • some other icons added
  • more additions to the article reading screen
  • added 'restart service' option in troubleshooting
  • delete/purge old read articles
  • fixes
v0.1.2beta:
  • article reading screen overhaul
  • some fixes
v0.1.1beta:
  • a nice app icon :)
  • added details view
  • added tag editing/syncing
  • added title editing/syncing
v0.1.0beta:
  • first release!

How do I keep ALL my RIL items from downloading to my device? What I really need is a 'Delete Prior' option that would remove all items before the selected item (or before a certain date, or over a certain age). I mean remove as in remove from the device, not from RIL.

A batch mode - would also be nice, a way to select multiple items and do something with them.

Love the app. Cheers!
